As you can well imagine, there is a variety of different print processes and at Premier Image we have access to a host of trade suppliers for each process.
Small Format Digital: Typically reserved for “Short Run” needs with a quantity as low as one (1) unit. Examples of Short Run Digital: Stationary, Business Cards, Business Forms, Multi Part Forms, VIP Passes, Photo Quality Images up to 12.00” x 19.00”, Meeting brochures and Catalogues, etc.
Large Format Digital: Again typically reserved for “Short Run” needs can be both indoor and outdoor on a variety of substrates. Roll to Roll Digital is used most often for Banners and “Print & Mount” projects where a high degree of resolution is required. Substrates utilized on a roll to roll usually consist of paper, vinyl adhesive, vinyl banner material and fabrics. Flatbed Digital is a wonderful technological development which allows us to print direct to substrates up to 1.50” thick. If you have seen those 30’ wide x 75’ high banners, this is large format digital.
There is a very wide array of digital equipment on the market….so don’t be fooled by price alone. Reputable digital suppliers have the various areas that they specialize in. You can count on my experience in this business to always provide you with the best quality and pricing based on your specific needs. “Beware of the Lowest Price Supplier”, as you are well aware there can always be a “lower price”. When pricing seems “too good to be true”, then it is usually being produced on older technology with lower resolution.
Litho Printing: This process is high resolution and is utilized for high run projects. Litho printing is generally done on paper products and some PVCs and vinyls, however, the printer printing on the plastic substrates should be printing in UV inks otherwise your project could be compromised. Substrates play a special part in your project and you can count on Premier Image to recommend exactly the right substrate. Press size will vary
12” x 19”, 20” x 28” and 28” x 40” presses are the most common, however, there are a limited number of Grand Format Litho Presses that we have access to if necessary. Pricing can be quite varied for litho printing and this is why we make certain that we match the right press with your needs.
Screen Printing: Although this process is not as popular as it once was, this process delivers the most vibrant colours by comparison to the other processes simply because of the amount of ink being laid down on the substrate. This is a direct-to-substrate process on substrates up to 1.50” thick. Depending on your project, 55 line screen is utilized however we have the capability of printing up to 100 line screen.
Specialty Printing Processes: Web printing is for extremely high runs. Pad printing is generally reserved for your promotional needs, such as printing on golf balls, mugs, poker chips, ice-buckets, hockey pucks, etc.
Dye-sublimation: This is a wonderful print process, which gaining in popularity. Dye-sublimation is used for printing a wide array of fabric materials. Premier Image is aligned with one of the most influential and experienced dye-sublimation printers in North America.
